12 The next day a great crowd who had come to Jerusalem for the Passover Feast heard that Jesus was coming there. 13 So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet Jesus, shouting,
“Praise God!
God bless the One who comes in the name of the Lord!
God bless the King of Israel!”
On Palm Sunday, crowds from all over Israel gathered in Jerusalem to celebrate the festival of Passover. As Jesus entered Jerusalem, the crowds praised and worshipped him. They laid down their coats, waved palm branches, and shouted, "Praise God! God bless the one who comes in the name of the Lord!" This act of praise created a path for Jesus to fulfill His purpose. Throughout scripture, we see that praise clears a path for God to move in our lives.
Worship is not mere entertainment or filler in our church services; it is a powerful tool for inviting God's presence and experiencing miracles. Through worship, we make a way for God to move in our lives. We were created to be worshipers, and when we wholeheartedly worship God, we set the stage for the supernatural. Our focus shifts from ourselves to Jesus, the one who brings victory and freedom. As we enter Holy Week, let us be intentional about creating an atmosphere of faith and expectancy through our worship. Remember, praise clears a path, music shifts our mood, and worship makes a way for miracles.
