There is wilderness all around us. Life as a Christ-follower is not freeof challenges and trials. When we face those and walk n the wilderness as theIsraelites did in our key Scripture As we walk into the wild, God says He'sgoing to do a "new thing." He's going to stretch us and grow us inthe wilderness. He equips us for things to come. We all want new things, but wedon't like the process to get something new. In Luke 4:1 we see that even Jesuswas taken into the wild and tempted by satan. God showed up there. God willalways show up when we're in the wilderness. Sometimes we don't like thetiming or what He does when He shows up, but He will show up in the wild forus. The way He shows up isn't always the same. We can't just look for whatwe've seen before. Remember, He's doing a new thing.
The Bible shows us many examples of people wandering in the wilderness. The Israelites wandered for decades. We are no different. We find ourselves inthe wild over the course of our walk with Christ. What we learn in Scripturefrom all those examples of the wild is that God shows up. His presence canalways be found in the wilderness. He comes into the wild with us to strengthenus and show us new things, as Isiah says. He will provide for us everything we need.
